Since its inception in 2008 and after winning my title as Miss Africa Perth the same year, I became inspired to make a difference beyond the borders of Australia. I was motivated to found The African Dream Benefit. The African Dream Benefit is a charity organisation that aims to make a difference by empowering African children with the opportunity of furthering their dreams through The African Dream Scholarship Fund and other relevant educational projects.

It takes more than just feeding a population, or clothing them. The reasons for poverty in Africa are underlying, and much more deeply rooted. We aim to develop and help train our future leaders through the advancement of their education. We value education as a key strategy for economic growth in Africa, and we believe that every child in Africa has the right to accomplish their dreams despite their socio-economic circumstances.

Equipping children with a quality education will give them the best chances of participating in a democratic society. Preparing children with the skills and tools of becoming the future leaders of Africa is paramount to this benefit. We want to teach men how to fish and not just give them the fish. Because we know that when that child is given a chance to accomplish their dream, in essence we are creating a remedy for generational poverty.

I want this organisation to leap beyond boundaries and become something the world has not yet seen. The African Dream team and I are working very hard to establish what will be the strong foundations of a truly revolutionary cause, so we can make dreams come true for well deserving children in Africa through the advancement of their education.
